In a new interview with Digital Spy, Ariana reveals that Mariah is definitely one of the artists that she is inspired by -- but so is Fergie!
"My biggest inspirations have been Imogen Heap, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Fergie," she told them. "'Clumsy' by Fergie is always one that I love to listen to when I need inspiration."
Maybe we shouldn't be so surprised. Remember when Ariana posted a cover of Justin Bieber's "Die In Your Arms" for fans last summer? In the middle of her version of the song, she included a sample of "Clumsy"!
