After much speculation that the couple had split up since neither Katy nor Russell had been seen with their wedding bands on recently, Russell made an official announcement today. "Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I'll always adore her and I know we'll remain friends," he said.

Katy Perry has yet to comment -- or Tweet on her normally active Twitter account.
The two met at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards and were engaged in January 2010. They got married in October 2010 in an extravagant celebration at a resort in a tiger reserve in India.
