When Demi Lovato starts off a song with the lyrics, "This is a story that I've never told," it's clear things are about to get real personal.
Demi's fourth album is full of new material, but the song "Warrior" was one of the most meaningful to her, written about what she said was a "negative thing turned positive." (In fact, she even got a new tattoo with the words "Now I'm a warrior" on her back left shoulder!)
"I was writing about personal experiences, and it's the type of song where you can't fit all of it into one song -- you can't put all of the emotions into one song. It was the hardest song to write because it was the most vulnerable for me, and you can't sum up that experience in three or four minutes."
Demi told Jimmy Fallon that the song was "very difficult" to write, record, and release and said it was "kind of a like a tribute to releasing the album, as well as overcoming some really, really difficult things" in her life.
