One-man band Plug In Stereo is getting ready to dominate the airwaves with the recent release of his latest album The Patience EP. Before he hits the road this February and March with Every Avenue, We Are The In Crowd, and The Audition, 18-year-old Trevor Dahl stopped by the J-14 office to tell us all about his new EP and what's in store for 2012.
J-14: This past year I feel like you've constantly been on tour. How do you think you've evolved in this past year as a performer?
Plug In Stereo's Trevor Dahl: I think our band has become a lot tighter live -- I've been working on my voice a lot, I'm trying to get stronger with it, and just being more comfortable of stage, being more relaxed, and just being more comfortable with it, rather then being nervous. I'm just talking without really know what I'm saying. I have a lot more fun lately, and I like the new songs more too, rather then playing the old songs, because the old songs I wrote two and a half years ago, so now we're able to play the new EP that came out a couple of weeks ago. So that's a lot of fun!
J-14: What's your favorite song off your new album The Patience EP?
Trevor: Overall my favorite song on the EP is probably "Patience" because it means the most to me. I originally started writing it about when I was in my room and my dad hadn't painted the walls yet in my room. It was grey. So I wrote about me writing to grey walls and basements and how other bands that I knew were touring and signed to major labels. So I wrote about that in the beginning. Just me being patient and doing what I was doing and just keep doing it hoping things would pay off sooner or later.
