What do you get when you put two bands that are best friends on a co-headlining tour across the U.S. together? Besides the string of pranks that inevitably go down behind the scenes every night, you get one cohesive show that's full of heart and energy on the Everything's Fine Symphony Soldier Tour. From the moment they hit the stage at the Gramercy Theater in New York City on February 8 to the very last notes of the night, it's obvious - The Cab and The Summer Set really truly love what they're doing.
Top 5 Moments from the Everything's Fine Symphony Soldier Tour
1. The first two opening bands, Paradise Fears and Days Difference, are not to be forgotten. Paradise Fears promises an exciting future with their catchy pop-rock tracks and easy stage presence and their mash-up cover of Gym Class Heroes and Adam Levine's "Stereo Hearts" mashed with Taking Back Sunday's "Cute Without The E?" Spot on. Days Difference, who have opened for Allstar Weekend and Jordin Sparks, served the perfect laid-back set and transition to He Is We, who were up next.
2. Stand-out duo He Is We delivered a diverse set from high energy numbers to more heartbreaking, soft lullabies. My favorite moment of their set had to be when Brian Dales from The Summer Set joined Rachel Taylor on stage for a duet of "All About Us," originally sung by He Is We's Rachel and Owl City's Adam Young.
3. Brian Dales -- simply The Summer Set's vocalist? No more! He told us before the show he's learning the guitar AND the drums, which he proceeded to demonstrate on stage with pride (even if the make-shift drums were held together by tape).
4. Towards the end of the night, mid-The Cab's set, Brian Dales joined The Cab for "Living Louder" in his Giants jersey to crazy applause. Watching these two friends on stage together, experiencing performing to a sold out venue in New York City, was enough to give goosebumps.
5. Have I mentioned how much I love sing-alongs at concerts? The Cab's set was full of them as their dedicated fans sung back the lyrics to practically every song of their set -- a mixture of tracks off Whisper War and their latest album Symphony Soldier. A sing-along to "Bad" was the perfect send off for the night.
