ZacEfronTheLuckyOne2.jpgHi J-14ers!

Okay, I'll admit it: I've been a fan of Zac Efron long before his rise to High School Musical fame. I watched Summerland every week and always said that the super-talented, totally adorable, gap-toothed actor who played Cameron would grow up to be a total superstar -- and I was right! But, more than Zac's amazing looks, what I love most about him is the fact that no matter how famous he becomes, Zac remains the same sweet, down-to-earth guy he was the first time I met him.

When I was invited to an advanced screening of Zac's new film, The Lucky One, of course, I jumped at the chance. I went in with high expectations for this film -- and they were definitely met. I mean, it has everything that I love in a movie: a war-torn love story, a really cute guy, and it's based off a Nicholas Sparks book. What's not to like?

The movie opens with Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Zac Efron) finding a photograph of a mystery women in the desert in Iraq. The blonde woman, posing in front of a lighthouse, which, Logan soon finds out, is located in Louisiana, brings him luck -- and he survives several tours of duty against all odds. Once he gets back to the U.S., he decides to set out to find her and heads to Hamden, LA.

He learns that the mystery woman's name is Beth (played by Taylor Schilling) and he offers to take a job at her family owned kennel, where the two soon realize that they have more in common than they could have ever imagined. But Logan, the definition of the strong and silent type, finds it difficult to express to Beth exactly why he came to find her and just how important she's been to him. Throw in Beth's jealous ex-husband trying to ruin things for them and Beth's lovable mother and son meddling to bring the pair together, and you've got the recipe for one serious tearjerker!

This movie is a perfect date movie or a great pick to see with your BFFs to remind you just how important the littlest things are -- and how they might just change your life forever!

Are you planning to see The Lucky One? Have you already seen it? What'd you think?

Looking forward to hearing from you!
