Hey J-14ers!
Nickelodeon has rounded up some of their biggest stars for a brand new version of one of everyone's favorite fairy tales: Cinderella. But Rags is really something different.
First of all, the traditional princess role is actually a guy! Yup, the Cinder-fella is Charlie Prince, played by the always charming Max Schneider from 'How To Rock.' Not only is he forced to work for his step-father, but he also has to deal with his annoying step-brothers who would rather scheme to get their horrible singing act off the ground then give Charlie, who actually has tons of talent, a chance at his dream.
Fate steps in when Charlie bumps into mega-pop star Kadee Worth, played by the super sweet Keke Palmer. Whether Charlie is jamming out on the streets or Kadee is performing one of her hits, the songs will definitely have you singing! "The music is just totally, I don't want to say the bomb, but Rodney Jerkins produced all the music, and he is just amazing," Keke spills to J-14 "The music is definitely giving you another twist on it."
But, despite her talent, Kadee lives a tough life and isn't allowed to perform the songs she's written or even chose her own clothes. And worst of all for Charlie, Kadee even has fake boyfriend, Finn, just for publicity! (But don't worry, Avan Jogia is hilarious as her egotistical British faux partner!)
Whether you love the twist on the original story, the rockin' music, or the amazing costumes, one thing everyone will agree on it how hilarious this flick is! "Our story is very funny," Keke tells us. "Not like the other Cinderella's weren't funny, but this is very funny." From the Charlie's bumbling step-brothers to Kadee's canine companion, Trumpet, I dare you to try and keep a straight face!
Did you tune in to Rags this Memorial Day Weekend? What did you think?
Looking forward to hearing from you!
