Oh my goodness! Olly Murs rocked the house last night at a private concert in NYC -- and J-14 was lucky enough to chat with the One Direction opener before his show. As we sat down to talk to him, he couldn't stop gushing about his amazing new American fans. "They're insane! They're running [next to] the buses and chanting in the middle of the night," Olly says. "I think it's illegal, how loud they are!"
When he's not rocking the stage before 1D's performance, Olly makes sure to see the cities that he's in -- and spend some quality time with his tourmates! He even caught a Yankees game in New York on June 5, and recorded an acoustic version of his single "Heart Skips A Beat" with new bud Niall Horan while the tour was in Toronto, Canada. "Niall's a great lad," Olly says. "He reminds me of Tigger from "Winnie the Pooh" -- always bouncing around!" He also dished on 1D's hilarious on-tour habits. "Zayn and Harry sleep a lot," he shares. No wonder, since all of the One Direction guys -- and Olly -- have been subject to tons of late-night prank calls from fans who figure out the hotel they're staying in that night.
His single, "Heart Skips A Beat," made its debut on American radio this week and Olly released a brand new music video for the song -- exclusively for fans in the U.S.! And he's just getting started! "I didn't think the American fans would even know who I am," Olly admits. "It's been brilliant!"
