Five teen girls have been named to the 2012 Summer Olympics U.S. women's gymnastics team -- historically one of the best teams in the world! Here are the top five things you should know about Gabby Douglas,16, before the Olympics start this Friday, July 27.

1. Gabrielle Douglas was born on December 31, 1995 in Virginia Beach, VA and moved to West Des Moines, IA by herself in 2010 to work with coach, Liang Chow.

2. By the age of four, Gabby had taught herself how to do a one-handed cartwheel. But it was her sister, Arielle, who got her into gymnastics classes. "For four years, I bugged her," Arielle says. "I finally was like, 'Mom, you need to put her into gymnastics. It's time.'"

3. She was born on the last possible day to be eligible to compete on the 2011 World gymnastics team, which made her the youngest member of Team USA. The team claimed the gold in Tokyo!

4. Gabby automatically earned a spot on the summer Olympics team by winning the Olympic Trials by .1 points. When asked about competing in London, Gabby said, "I'm hoping I can catch an accent!"

5. Gabby is no different than any other teenage girl. Her favorite books are the 'Twilight' series and her favorite TV show is 'The Vampire Diaries.'

Be sure to keep an eye out for her -- the gymnastics events start July 28 on NBC!
