After winning the Olympic gold medal for Team USA, American teen gymnasts Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney, Jordyn Wieber, Kyla Ross, and Gabby Douglas arrived back in the United States for a day of celebration in New York City.
J-14 Magazine caught up with the Fierce Five at the Empire State Building lighting ceremony this morning where the girls flipped the switch to light the iconic building red, white, and blue to celebrate their victory.
Afterwards, J-14 caught up with the girls to dish about what it was like to celebrate at the Closing Ceremony -- and especially seeing One Direction perform. The only problem? They didn't get to see them!
"By the time we got out, they were done performing," Jordyn Wieber tells J-14. "I'm heartbroken."
But we did get the scoop about their favorite 1D guys. "I think I like Harry the best," McKayla Maroney tells us. Jordyn couldn't pick just one. "Harry, Liam and Zayn are my favorites," she said.
But the girls did still get to enjoy the Closing Ceremony. "Seeing the Spice Girls was really cool," Kyla Ross tells J-14.
