Although we were all sad to watch her say goodbye to The X Factor last week, J-14 was lucky enough to speak with Diamond White about her memories, performances, and fave celebrities (yes, we're talking about One Direction) from the show this season. Check out our interview below:
J-14: How did you make the decision that you wanted to audition on 'The X Factor' to begin with?
Diamond: I saw it last year, and I was like, "I really want to do this." Just being able to sing in front of the celebrity judges, it was basically my dream. So I was like, "I'm just going to try for it and see what happens." My friend wanted to audition for it too, so we all took a trip down to San Francisco, and we waited in a long line and we had blankets. I just love singing, so I wanted to start with 'The X Factor.'
J-14: There was that huge shocker when you were sent home and then brought back. Can you tell us about that experience and what was going through your head?
Diamond: When I got eliminated, it was kind of like time stopped, and I couldn't really tell what was going on. My brain just stopped working. It was really tough just to know that I wasn't going to be on the show anymore. Then they called me back and it was like, "Oh my gosh. I'm so grateful to be here. I'm so blessed that they called me back. I can't believe that this actually happened to me." It only happens to one contestant each year, so for the judges to believe that that contestant was me, it was amazing. It was a crazy experience, and I seriously was not expecting that to happen.
