The J-14 editors can't stop chatting about Hollywood's biggest night, the Oscars! Here are our top pics for the best moments of last night's Academy Awards:
"My favorite moment of the night was when Jennifer Lawrence won her award for 'Silver Linings Playbook.' Even though she tripped and fell, she was as graceful as ever and her acceptance was everything an acceptance speech should be." --Photo Editor Nicole Mazza
"My favorite Oscar moment was when Hugh Jackman ran up to help Jennifer Lawrence when she fell. So cute!" --Designer Tanya Swartz
"Jennifer Lawrence in general! She is so quirky and normal, I love seeing her at these big events being so unconventional. Also, seeing Anne Hathaway win brought tears to my eyes, she's doing Genovia proud!" --Intern Lindsey Smith
"It's a tie between three: First, I might have fangirled just a bit when Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Daniel Radcliffe joined Seth MacFarlane to perform Frank Sinatra's 'High Hopes.' Second, I absolutely loved the performance by the cast of 'Les Mis.' And third is, of course, J-Law winning Best Actress! She fell on the stairs and still had such grace and poise. Plus, she had Hugh Jackman and Bradley Cooper rushing to her aid...um, jealous!!" --Intern Sora Hwang
"My favorite part was when Channing Tatum and Charlize Theron danced to 'The Way You Look Tonight.' What a sweet surprise!" --Assistant Editor Laura Knipping
"So excited that Adele won an Oscar for her song 'Skyfall!' She's half way to an EGOT (Emmy Grammy Oscar Tony). If anyone can do it, it's Adele!" --Photo Editor Danielle Kepler
"I have to say the musical parts of the Oscars were my favorite this year. From Adele's perfect performance of 'Skyfall' (girl had awesome hair, too) to Daniel Radcliffe and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's dance on stage, to the 'Les Mis' medley, music at the Academy Awards has never been better!"--Editorial Assistant Rachel Torgerson
"The 'Les Misèrables' medley was absolutely stunning -- vocally and visually -- especially Aaron Tveit and Samantha Barks. And I loved the tribute to the classic musical 'The Sound of Music' with its star Christopher Plummer. Plus, as a Taiwanese-American, I was so proud to see Taiwanese director Ang Lee win for 'Life of Pi' -- and thank the country!" --Editor-in-Chief Rachel Chang
The Oscars saved the best for last when Ben Affleck gave his Best Picture speech for 'Argo.' Even though he was snubbed from a Director nom, I love that Ben inspired everyone, saying, 'You have to work harder than you think you possibly can. It doesn't matter how you get knocked down in life because that's going to happen. All that matters is you have to get up.' Plus, how precious was wife Jennifer Garner cheering him on from the crowd? And I may have teared up when he chocked out a final shout out to his kids, 'Violet, Sam, and Seraphina, I love you. This is for you.' --Deputy Editor Ashley Spencer
